As an LPN transitioning to RN and currently preparing for the NCLEX-RN, I found Xiara’s NCLEX-RN Quick Facts book to be a very helpful study resource! I love how the information is organized by body system and broken down into easy-to-understand explanations without feeling overwhelming.
What stood out to me most was how Xiara explains the WHY behind conditions, symptoms, and nursing interventions instead of focusing only on memorization. The memory tricks, priority nursing tips, and critical-thinking scenarios are especially helpful for understanding how to apply the information to NCLEX-style questions.
I also appreciate that the book focuses on important concepts without requiring students to read through hundreds of pages of textbook material. It's a great resource for reviewing content, strengthening weak areas, and reinforcing what you've already learned.
I would definitely recommend this book as a supplemental study resource for nursing students preparing for the NCLEX-RN. It's practical, organized, and written in a way that makes studying feel more manageable.
Thank you for reading the early copy, Lynne! I'm so glad the why behind each topic is helping you on your LPN to RN journey.
As a repeat NCLEX-RN test taker, I’ve used different resources to prepare for the exam, and I’ve found this book to be more helpful than any other book I’ve used. What I appreciate most is the critical-thinking approach. Instead of simply giving you lists of facts to memorize, the book helps you understand the why behind nursing concepts and how to apply that knowledge to clinical situations. I feel that this approach is especially important for the NCLEX because it requires more than memorization; it requires clinical judgment and the ability to think critically. This book has been a refreshing resource in my preparation, and I appreciate the effort Xiara put into making complex nursing concepts easier to understand and apply. I would recommend it to other nursing students, especially those who have struggled with the NCLEX and are looking for a resource that helps them develop their critical-thinking skills. I enjoy all the charts to help organize the material; it makes everything flow easier. Another one of my favorite aspects of this NCLEX review book is how it can follow along with the CPR report.
Thank you for reading the early copy, Cristal! I'm so glad the why behind each concept is helping you prepare.
This book is absolute gold for visual learners because of the way you wrote it. I have bought a lot of nursing study materials, and I haven't seen anything else that breaks it down like this. You present the information in a clinical way, which is exactly how we are being tested nowadays.
Here are a few specific things I loved:
Chapter 4: This chapter is amazing because you rarely see these topics covered in other study materials.
IV Fluids: The explanation is fantastic. Breaking down where the water goes, its uses, what to watch out for, and the safety aspects makes it very easy to understand.
Page 30: The "what you see and do" section is visually great. It helps the brain process the information as a storyline rather than just forcing us to memorize facts.
Pharmacology Organization: I love how you group the medications by body system! When pharmacology is presented as one massive section, it gets so overwhelming, so organizing the book this way is perfect.
Clinical Judgment: I really appreciate how you break down the "worst thing that could happen and what to do," and how you include the "why" behind everything. It really connects the dots!
Thank you for reading the early copy, Amanda! I'm so glad the IV fluids breakdown and the why behind everything clicked for you.
It is a perfect study tool to study without wasting time and jumping from one resource to another , no nonsense and overwhelming book studies , lay out is just perfect for easy learning and information is so easy to understand love it ! Thank you nurse Xiara for creating this valuable study resources and her other study tools are also very incredible!
Thank you for reading the early copy, Kirandeep! So glad the layout makes it easy to study.
Xiara broke EKG's down to me in a way I could understand it, it finally made sense and allowed me to go through my topic and understand why the heart was doing what it was doing on the monitor.
